寒椿

寒椿は、11月から2月にかけて花を咲かせます。これは、花が少ない冬の時期に彩りを添える貴重な存在です。花の色は赤、ピンク、白などがあり、一重咲きや八重咲きなど、様々な咲き方があります。花の大きさは直径5〜7cmほどで、サザンカに似ていますが、一般的にサザンカよりも花弁が肉厚で、散り方も異なります。サザンカは花弁がばらばらに散るのに対し、寒椿は花ごと落ちるのが特徴です。
